In 2019, Zhan's creative journey began in Guangzhou with the inception of 49 PERCENT. Originally, 49 PERCENT was merely the inconspicuous name that first came to mind. However, as the brand evolved, each idea gave it a new meaning and allowed its essence to transform alongside every collection.  

Feeling as though the label of a “traditional designer” does not ring true, Zhan revels in the title of a "creative creator." For Zhan, every aspect of life, no matter how small, can serve as inspiration for avant-garde simplicity. Once a seed of inspiration has been planted in his mind, Zhan brings the idea to his team, where they work together to brainstorm the concept for a new collection. Anything that resonates with the soul of 49 PERCENT can become a new creation with Zhan’s instinctive design ethos.
